What People Are Saying

"I had high hopes for Wingstop in Alton, but my experiences were disappointing twice. The lemon pepper wings were over-salted and overwhelmed with sauce, rendering them inedible. Perhaps the location opened before staff were fully trained in Wingstop's standards. The St. Louis locations demonstrate a higher level of quality. A temporary closure for staff retraining might be in order.FIRE THE MANAGERS! Call me, I’ll flip These reviews around!"

"I was extremely nervous about ordering here, with the reviews. But my experience was really good. The food was ready when it was supposed to be, I opened the order at the counter and it was perfect, and the staff was really friendly. I’m glad we gave it a chance! Will be back."

"I turned 55 today February 7th. At a little after 4pm I decided to stop at this Wingstop, even after reading a few horrible reviews, I took my chances. I was greeted immediately, menu and specials explained with a smile and great enthusiasm. I asked about a senior discount, there is a 10% discount for seniors. 2 drinks came with my order, by the time that I filled my cups my order was ready. It’s probably been the best service that I’ve received from a group of guys in a long time. Thank you guys at Wingstop Alton, from The Birthday Lady"

"We were very excited to try this location after it opened, but unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing and concerning. For context, I’ve been in the food industry for about 10 years — managed for 5 years and owned my own restaurant for the past 2. I understand how busy restaurants get and try to be realistic and patient. We weren’t expecting anything over the top or “Gordon Ramsay–level” service. However, after waiting nearly an hour, we did expect warm, quality food. We ordered inside on a Sunday evening around 4:23 PM. While there were several carry-out orders (which is expected in 2025), we were the only walk-in order. During that time, multiple employees were on break while only one person worked the register, and there appeared to be little urgency or coordination to help prepare food despite the volume of orders. The overall atmosphere felt very unprofessional and disorganized, and it was unclear whether anyone was actively managing the shift. When we finally received our food, the wings were barely warm, and the fries were unseasoned and clearly frozen. I personally observed frozen fries being pulled from a bag and dropped into the fryer, which was disappointing — especially because I was excited to show my wife the seasoned fries that originally inspired me as a young cook to start making my own hand-cut fries at my shop. What a turn of events. To make matters worse, both my wife and I became violently ill after eating here, experiencing severe nausea and vomiting. While I can’t say with absolute certainty that the food was the cause, the timing, temperature, and overall handling of the food raises serious concerns about food safety. Given the number of food-borne illness cases today, this is not something I can ignore. We try to support as many local businesses as possible — not only to spend quality time together, but to learn and gain ideas for our own restaurant. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience felt unsafe and unprofessional, and I believe others deserve to be aware before dining here. Management seriously needs to address food quality, temperature control, staff professionalism, and oversight."

"It would be a zero if I could. Waited an hour past time it was supposed to be ready. Asked him if food was ready when got there, he checked and said no. 30 min later ask again different employee says I'm next. After couple more orders go thru, I ask for refund. Turns out my bag was there and ready the whole time! Waited for nothing other than this employee not capable of checking a name. Unacceptable. And if you've been here I don't have to tell you about the customer service, you already know. What a joke."
